Tennessee all-time team

by

A very big two-tone blue thank you to all who participated in selecting our all-time Tennessee era team. I was pleased to see several things which occurred.
First, you gave serious and thoughtful consideration to players who are no longer with the team. I’ve seen similar polls where the readers didn’t remember or care about former players, resulting in a lineup top-heavy with current players.
I also liked the numerous comments which said that some of the current players are almost as good as the former ones and will be as good or better with a few more years of experience. It bodes well for the future of the Titans.
Several readers asked if we would also be doing another series of polls for an all-time franchise team. Yes, we’re planning on it. It will be great to include Hall of Famers Warren Moon, Earl Campbell, Elvin Bethea, Mike Munchak and Ken Houston. And there are so many other Houston Oilers who are very deserving of consideration.
Following is our all-time Tennessee team, as selected by your votes.

I really enjoyed voting and reading other’s comments. Thanks for doing this.
Can’t wait for training camp to begin.

Hey, how about an article with some tips on attending training camp practices? That would probably be appropriate once the detailed schedule is released. Last year that was on July 20, so it should be out soon.
I went to my first camp last year and caught both the morning and afternoon practices on a very hot day the week before the first preseason game. It was a cool experience, so I am planning on making a couple of trips over from Knoxville this year. I am hoping some of you guys with more experience might be able to provide some nugget of info that might make the trip even better.

  3. Andrew Strickert Says:

Garland, I’m already planning on doing that. I’ll have it for you sometime within the next week.
I’ve already got a list of things I intend to write about but if anyone has anything in particular they’d like to read about, please let me know.

Andrew, I’d love to read your take on Albert reportedly turning down 40m over 4 years and what you see developing. I don’t see the Titans agreeing not to franchise him next year, nor do I see Albert holding out beyond the preseason and losing close to $500k per week. What are your thoughts?

  5. bobcomu Says:

The list has a good mix of the 99 superbowl squad, and current Titans. Hopfully that will bode well for this year and the near future.

  6. Markus Says:

um…the all-time TN team’s defense looks awefully similar to the one I see on paper this year…maybe even not as good!
