Questions for Football Outsiders

by

Pardon the non-forthcoming McNair post-my copy of that playoff game ended up not being very cooperative.

Anyway, I will be doing a Q&A with Football Outsiders on their projections for the 2009 season (Titans 9.5 wins, “fringe playoff contender”).  If you have any questions you’d like to see me ask, please post them in the comments.  Otherwise, you’ll get what I come up with.

For those of you not familiar with Football Outsiders, check out their website.  In addition to providing content to ESPN.com, they publish what for my money is the best preseason annual for the serious football fan, what used to be called Pro Football Prospectus and is now called Football Outsiders Almanac.  For more on what that book is, see my review of PFP08 and their page on FOA 2009.

  1. Andrew Strickert Says:

I’d like to know how much of the projected 3½ game decline they attribute to the loss of Albert Haynesworth. I’d also be interested to learn their opinion of what Nate Washington brings to the table.
Finally, since they regard the Titans as a “fringe playoff contender” I assume they believe the Colts will win 10 or more games and the division. On what basis do they project that?
Sounds like an interesting Q&A session you’ll be doing. I’m looking forward to reading it.

If vision is so important to a quarterback, then why does it apear that Alex Smith’s helment sits so low on his head, that it appears to interfere with his vision while playing.
