  1. Shawn Smith Says:

My observations from first preseason game:
    The good…
    1. The rookies played well: Marks held his own and had a good burst for a sack, Cook has soft hands and made some good catches, Mouton had a couple of good KRs and was in the right spot on one deep pass that ended in offensive pass interference, McRath had a couple of special teams tackles, Ringer had several good runs, and McCourty had a real good interception near the end of the game.
    2. Nate Washington is quick and should make an impact in the passing game. He had a couple of good catches and runs.
    3. Alge Crumpler, despite looking like an offensive tackle, had a couple of good catches and still looked nimble.
    4. Kevin Vickerson and Jason Jones both played well. If Vickerson keeps playing well, then the Titans will probably keep 5 defensive tackles.
    The bad…
    1. The first team offense couldn’t get much of a running game going…Lendale got in on a run but other than that there wasn’t many holes or push forward.
    2. Cary Williams had a couple of good plays, but also had a couple of missed tackles. He was being thrown at a lot when he was in the game.
    3. There were a ton of penalties for the second and third-stringers…Fisher will probably go ballistic on that point.
    4. VY didn’t look good…some times it looks like his bad throws are the result of the receiver not being in the right place at the right time, but then I don’t see that happening with Collins or Ramsey.
