Titans-Jets inactives, game thread

The list of inactives for today’s game is out:

DE Dave Ball, WR Lavelle Hawkins, P Craig Hentrich, LB Stanford Keglar, OL Troy Kropog, DT Sen’Derrick Marks, TE Bo Scaife, QB Vince Young (#3 QB)

VY’s #3 QB is apparently due to his illness.  Though Eugene Amano is active, Leroy Harris listed as replacing him in the starting lineup.  The other lineup “change” is Crumpler officially as the starter at tight end for Scaife.  Jets inactives are:

QB Erik Ainge (#3 QB), WR David Clowney, QB Kevin O’Connell, DE Ropati Piootua, CB Lito Sheppard, G Matt Slauson, CB Donald Strickland, Jamaal Westerman

The only lineup change for the Jets is David Lowery starting at CB for Sheppard-not a surprise.

Please feel free to share your comments here during today’s game.

Oh my goodness, look at those fugly Stiller-look alike unis

Things are not starting out well. You can’t get too upset about giving up an opening drive but the Titans are now two TDs behind before the offense gets on the field.
This might be a long afternoon.

  3. Tom Gower Says:

Ooh, boy, this has not been a good start. TD, KOR fumble, TD = pain. Let’s try running a play from scrimmage now, guys?

  4. Drexel Perry Says:

An ugly start, to say the least.

  5. Andrew Strickert Says:

The defense has settled down and we’ve got a ball game. Fuller’s injury is being reported as a broken forearm.

Fuller and Finnegan both out, Mouton and McCourty in. Jets went right after McCourty

Titans are pityful, they are playing like jr high kids, they actually gave me a headeache.

It’s really amazing how poorly the Titans have been playing so far this year. No one on the team is playing well, other than maybe CJ. The receivers are playing poorly as usual, the o-line isn’t pass blocking well and keeps getting penalized, KC flat out stinks (no big surprise there), our d-line can stop the run but can get no pressure on the qb, our linebackers are getting blocked on runs more than they should, and our pro-bowl db’s are probably playing the worst of anyone outside of KC. Harper appears to ready for retirement, and KC should be as well.
Might as well throw VY out there when he recovers from his illness, he can’t play any worse than Collins already is. Oh, and maybe just maybe it might help to actually have a returner on the roster-that one’s on the GM.
One has to wonder how it is that so many good players from a year ago are now playing so terribly. Are they buying into their own hype? Are they tuning out Fisher after his long tenure? Is it due to poor coaching by the coordinators? Whatever it is, if the Titans hope to have any sort of respectable season, they need to get it turned around right away.

They are giving games away this season.

Defense played pretty well today. The short field and injuries hurt, but they played well enough to win. Special teams and the second half passing offense were terrible.
