Titans-Dolphins inactives, gameday thread

December 20, 2009

The list of inactives is out for today’s game, and includes one regular starter out with injury.  Not VY, thankfully, but once again Gerald McRath gets a start in place of David Thornton.  Here’s the full list:

DE Eric Bakhtiari, WR Dominique Edison, CB Rod Hood, DE Jevon Kearse, T/G Troy Kropog, RB Javon Ringer, TE Craig Stevens, LB David Thornton

In the great “what DL are playing this week,” it’s Kevin Vickerson up and new acquisition Eric Bakhtiari down and Jevon Kearse remaining down.  Also, Kenny Britt is once again listed as the starter in place of Justin Gage.

For the Dolphins, its:

DE Ikaika Alama-Francis, DE Lionel Dotson,  T Andrew Gardner, OL Andrew Hartline, CB Evan Oglesby, RB Kory Sheeters, QB Tyler Thigpen (#3 QB), WR Patrick Turner

Two lineup changes for the Fins: Joe Berger starts in place of Jake Grove, while Nate Garner starts at RG in place of Donald Thomas.

Titans-Rams inactives, gameday thread

December 13, 2009

The list of inactives is out for today’s game and thankfully contains no extreme surprises:

LB Colin Allred, TE Jared Cook, WR Dominique Edison, CB Rod Hood, DE Jevon Kearse, T/G Troy Kropog, RB Javon Ringer, DT Kevin Vickerson

Yes, you should expect to see VY starting at QB.  The release also notes that Kenny Britt will once again start at wideout in place of Justin Gage, though #12 is back in the lineup.  It further confirms DT Jason Jones has been placed on IR and that DE Eric Bakhtiari has been signed to the 53-man roster.  Given the absence of his name from the list above, he’ll be making his Titans debut; since I know nothing about him, I’ll be watching him with some interest.  For the Rams:

G Roger Allen, QB Marc Bulger, CB Danny Gorrer, S Clinton Hart, RB Chris Ogbonnaya, QB Mike Reilly (#3 QB), T Jason Smith, T Phil Trautwein

The only listed lineup change is Adam Goldberg starting at RT for Jason Smith.  Kyle Boller is active and will be starting at QB, presumably, so those of you hoping for Null are disappointed.

Feel free to leave your comments here during today’s game.

Titans-Cardinals inactives, gameday thread

November 29, 2009

The list of inactives is out for today’s game against the Cardinals and includes at least one surprise on it:

DE Dave Ball, WR Justin Gage, CB Rod Hood, DT Jason Jones, OT Troy Kropog, DT Sen’Derrick Marks, RB Alvin Pearman, WR LenDale White

Yes, Jevon Kearse is back in the lineup with Ball inactive. Yes, Javon Ringer is back in the lineup with LenDale inactives. Yes, Britt gets another start at wideout with Gage still out. For the Cardinals:

LB Will Davis, G/T Herman Johnson, S Rashad Johnson, G/T Brandon Keith, TE Stephen Spach, WR Jerheme Urban, LB Reggie Walker, QB Kurt Warner

Yes, Warner is out, which means Matt Leinart will be starting at QB and Brian St. Pierre will be the backup.

Feel free to use this post for your in-game and post-game comments.

Titans-Texans Liveblog

November 23, 2009

As Andrew mentioned, I’ll be liveblogging tonight’s Titans-Texans game on ESPN Monday Night Football beginning at 7:30 PM CT. In the interim, the list of inactives is out for tonight’s game and includes the following Titans:

LB Colin Allred, WR Justin Gage, DT Jason Jones, DE Jevon Kearse, T/G Troy Kropog, RB Alvin Pearman, RB Javon Ringer, LB David Thornton

Kenny Britt gets another start in place of Mr. Gage, while Gerald McRath gets another start of his own in place of Thornton. Yes, this does seem to indicate Nick Harper will regain his starting position. I’d expect to see Jovan Haye start in place of Jason Jones, though Sen’Derrick Marks has come on nicely the last couple weeks. For the Texans, the inactives are:

CB Dominique Barber, CB Fred Bennett, DE Tim Jamison, WR Jacoby Jones, CB Antwaun Molden, DT Frank Okam, QB Dan Orlovsky (#3 QB), G Tutuan Reyes

I’ll be back around 7:20 PM CT to start the liveblog. To access the liveblog, please click the link below to launch a new pop-up window. Sorry, the re-designed site does not support embedding the liveblogging software.

Titans-Texans live blog tonight

November 23, 2009

You’re invited to join us tonight as we plan on having a live blog of the Titans-Texans game. As usual, Tom Gower will be heading it up. He always does an outstanding job.

Following is the injury report, which is followed by some of my thoughts after the jump. (more…)

Titans-Bills inactives, gameday thread

November 15, 2009

When it’s game time, it’s pain time! Per the Tennesseean, the Titans inactives for today’s game against the Bills include:

WR Justin Gage, CB Nick Harper, DE Jevon Kearse, LB Stanford Keglar, OT Troy Kropog, CB Jason McCourty, RB Javon Ringer, DT Kevin Vickerson

With Dave Stewart active this week, expect to see him back in his normal starting spot. Kenny Britt will start for Gage, and I’d assume Hood will start opposite Finnegan at corner again. Also, with Gage’s injury, the Titans added Dominique Edison from the practice squad and cut OL Fernando Velasco. For the Bills, inactives are:

DE Chris Ellis, LB Keith Ellison, QB Gibran Hamdan (#3 QB), WR James Hardy, CB Terrence McGee, WR Roscoe Parrish, OT Jonathan Scott, DT Kyle Williams

Per the official report, lots of starting lineup changes for the Bills-Spencer Johnson starts at RDT for Williams, Bryan Scott starts at Will LB for Ellison, the aptly-named Reggie Corner starts for McGee, and Kirk Chambers starts at right tackle for Scott. They’re also listing changes at both safety positions, with Jairus Byrd starting at FS for the active Whitner and George Wilson at SS.

Feel free to leave your comments here during today’s game.

Titans-49ers inactives, gameday thread

November 8, 2009

The list of inactives for today’s game against the 49ers is out, and includes some big names:

DE Dave Ball, CB Nick Harper, DE Jevon Kearse, LB Stanford Keglar, OT Mike Otto, RB Javon Ringer, OT David Stewart, LB David Thornton

Contrary to Andrew’s speculation about Kropog, Leroy Harris(!) is listed as the replacement starter for Stewart at right tackle. Additionally, McRath is listed as the starter for Thornton, while Hood gets another start for Harper. The big surprise is Keglar inactive with Thornton out, which leaves the Titans very thin at linebacker.

For the 49ers, these guys are out:

LB Diryal Briggs, CB Nate Clements, QB Nate Davis (#3 QB), DE Demetric Evans, CB Keith Smith, S Reggie Smith, OT Joe Staley, C Cody Wallace

No changes to the starting lineup, as Tarell Brown holds onto the starting job he took over last week with Clements out.

Feel free to leave your comments here during today’s game.

Titans-Jaguars inactives, game thread

November 1, 2009

The list of inactives is out for today’s game against the Jaguars and includes the following:

CB Nick Harper, DT Jovan Haye, DE Jevon Kearse, T Mike Otto, RB Alvin Pearman, RB Javon Ringer, TE Craig Stevens, CB Cary Williams

In addition to VY starting at QB, Hayes starts at LDE in place of Kearse, Jones at LDT for Haye, and Hood at LCB for McCourty. I guess the reports Hood was strictly a special teams/depth guy weren’t very accurate. With Pearman inactive, I’d guess Mouton will be the punt and kick returner today. For the Jaguars, the inactives include:

OT Jordan Black, S Sean Considine, CB Rashean Mathis, DT Greg Peterson, LB Bryan Smith, WR Tiquan Underwood, G/OT Maurice Williams, CB Brian Witherspoon

S Reggie Nelson starts at CB for Mathis, with Brian Russell slotting in at Nelson’s free safety slot. Tra Thomas also starts for Eugene Monroe at LT, as he did in the game in Jacksonville.

Feel free to leave your comments here during today’s game.

Titans-Patriots inactives, gameday thread

October 18, 2009

The Titans have released their list of inactives for this afternoon’s game against the Patriots and it includes the following names:

CB Cortland Finnegan, S Vinny Fuller, CB Nick Harper, G/C Leroy Harris, WR Lavelle Hawkins, DE Jevon Kearse, DT Sen’Derrick Marks, TE Craig Stevens

Jason Jones returns to his normal spot in the starting lineup, I assume. The listed lineup changes are Ryan Mouton for Finnegan and William Hayes for Jevon Kearse. Jason McCourty should get the start opposite Mouton. With Harris being out, rookie OT Troy Kropog makes his regular-season debut.

The Patriots will be missing DT Ron Brace, WR Joey Galloway, OT Matt Light, OL Rich Ohrnberger, S James Sanders, RB Fred Taylor, LB Adalius Thomas, and CB Terrance Wheatley. As mentioned in Drexel’s Q&A, rookie OT Sebastian Vollmer will probably start at LT in place of Light. As with Tony Ugoh, that should be a matchup the Titans can exploit.

Please feel free to leave your comments here during the game.

Titans fall to Colts to drop to 0-5

October 11, 2009

Following an 0-4 start, the Titans were facing perhaps their last sliver of hope as they hosted the unbeaten Colts on Sunday Night Football.  For the fifth time this season, though, the Colts ended a game with a victory, while the Titans ended the game with a loss, in this case by the final tally of 31-9.  For a detailed description of the game as it happened, check out the liveblog I did.

The game actually started fairly promisingly for the Titans, as an interception by Keith Bulluck and a punt muff helped the Titans be down 7-6 at the end of the first quarter.  Following another exchange of scores TD and FG, the Colts jumped out to a 12 point lead in the last minute of the first half on a 93 yard drive aided by a couple personal foul penalties against Titans defensive ends.  Whatever slim hops the Titans had after that were extinguished after Collins was intercepted the first possession of the second half, a pick converted into a TD to make it 28-9.
